Morson are currently recruiting for Aircraft Fitters to work for a Aerospace client at their Filton site on a long-term contract. You’ll be joining the team within the Build Production section to work on a variety of aircrafts. The site is responsible for design, test and manufacture the wings for a variety of commercial and military aircrafts in the UK.

Role: Aircraft Fitter
IR35 Status: Inside
Rate - UMBRELLA: 23.84 (skilled) per hour
Rate - PAYE: 18.02 (skilled) per hour
Location: Filton
Contract: 12 months
Shift: Monday to Thursday 6.30am to 3.30pm
Annual equivalent rate of pay: skilled 32,796
What you can expect as an Aircraft Fitter
• Work from engineering instructions and understand Aircraft Drawings
• Complete tasks to the required standards
• General tasks include the use of power tools for drilling, shimming, and sealing
• 1st party certification will be required following successful completion of the relevant courses
As a Skilled Aircraft Fitter, we’re looking for candidates who have:
• Aerospace or Engineering Full Apprenticeship
• Indenture and City & Guilds Level 2, BTEC ONC or Modern Apprenticeship Certificate, NVQ Level 2, 3, Key Skills level 2 and City & Guilds Level 2/BTEC ONC in a recognised engineering field
• Semi-skilled candidates must have experience in at least one of the disciplines above but may not hold all qualifications as requested above.
• Self-motivation with good communication skills
• An ability to work alone or as part of a team
• An openness to continuous improvement processes and new ways of working
• Knowledge and a high regard for Health and Safety standards
• must be comfortable working at heights and within confined spaces (You may need to work in a confined space (tank work), which includes restricted and physically demanding wing access and egress through oval shaped manholes).
• must pass pre-employment medical before going on site as well as BPSS clearance.
