Becoming the best airline is an adventure. And our Pricing & Revenue Management team is providing fuel for that journey by ensuring that we maximize our ticket revenue on every single flight across our network – both domestically and internationally – while giving our customers various product offerings for their travel. By analyzing market trends and forecasting consumer demand, this team works hard to ensure we are selling the right number of tickets at the right price to optimize our revenue and run a profitable airline.
Key Responsibilities: The Principal - Online Travel Agencies handles United’s Online Travel Agencies (OTAs) with more than $3.5 billion in annual UA revenue. The primary focus is to manage and increase profitability of assigned accounts, which include well-established OTA’s (Expedia, Priceline, Fareportal), newer entrants (Hopper, Vayama/Travix, Trip.com), Metasearch providers (Google Flight Search, Kayak, Skyscanner, etc.) and/or other strategically important travel sellers. Demonstrates exceptional understanding of Uniteds and of each customer’s unique business strategies. Solves problems and communicates effectively to build strong, trust-based relationships within client hierarchy to establish self/company as critical strategic business partner.
- Coordinates, with support of the Sr. Manager – Distribution and Director – Distribution, client agreements with other internal departments, and alliance partners to ensure profit maximization and contract obligations are met by both parties. Solves complex issues unique to high volume online sales (pricing, customer service, accounting, GDS) and facilitates resolution by clearly understanding and communicating the issues to all levels of management.
- Analyzes sales performance, facilitates reporting and invoicing, effectively raises commercial issues, schedules, and coordinates Quarterly Business Reviews.
- Systematically monitors display quality and level of conformity to United product display requirements and preferences, raises/solves issues that arise, coordinates findings and actions with AJV partners where applicable.
- Knows assigned customers inside/out. Maintains unmatched understanding of customers priorities and personal objectives and their demeanor toward United and competitor offerings. Supported by Distribution leaders, the Principal acts as an expert in United value propositions and pursues actions that are aligned with Uniteds strategy and interests.
NOTE: This position offers a hybrid work arrangement with in-office requirements 50 of the time in Chicago, IL. This role will be required to travel up to 10 of the time.

QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): - Bachelors degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
- 4+ years’ relevant work experience
- 1+ year of experience in distribution, sales, client management or related field
- Effective communicator
- Strong problem solving
- Establish trust-based relationships with distributors
- Robust understanding of United’s OTA and Metasearch contracts
- Familiarity with United distribution and sales strategies and capabilities
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

The base pay range for this role is $99,750.00 to $135,960.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
