The Position:
JOB SUMMARY
Design, implement, and maintain lab and customer-facing network infrastructure. Responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, security, and availability of our lab, ground and satellite networks.
The salary range of $89,200-$160,600 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES. Description
  • Network Test Infrastructure Setup
    • Assist in preparing the ground setup for the customer software integration and test teams prior to project integration.
    • Aid in analyzing, troubleshooting, and defining network configuration files for the customer configuration databases in the test & production environment.
    • Support the troubleshooting and creation of modem configuration files provided by Customer Performance Center (CPC).
    • Triage and quickly resolve issues with wireless access points.
    • Focal for the diagnosis and troubleshooting of ground network issues, collaborating with peers, customers, and CPC staff.
    • Monitor ground and satellite networks, providing reactive and proactive support based on data analysis in test environment.
    • Ensure network compatibility between our systems and Aircraft (Airbus/Boeing) networks and switches. This includes configure VPN connection and facilitate the test setup.
    • Act as network focal to communicate with OEM and 3rd party regarding all network setups form our lab to their equipment.
    • Analyze, evaluate, and configure network security systems, firewalls, and virtual LANs.
    • Plan and implement ground and satellite network upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor-supplied patches in test environment.
    • Maintain all interfaces (i.e. MikroTik, switches, Raspberry Pi, etc) in the test connectivity environment.
    • Cross functional Continuous Process Improvement
    • Lead and define network operations test environment best practices.
    • Participate in cross-functional meetings with technical resources across all departments.
    • Provide recommendations for network design, standards, implementation, operations, and maintenance for test environment.
    • Documentation & Processes
    • Collaborate on developing and maintaining training materials for the Customer Support Center and regional teams.
    • Research, evaluate, and recommend new documentation tools and methods.
    • Contribute to the identification and definition of business procedures for network documentation for the Software Test organization.
    • Contribute to the change management process for network documentation and procedures for the Software Test organization
What We’re Looking For:
KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
· Proven knowledge of TCP/IP, ethernet, network cabling, Layer 2/3 switching, the OSI Model, MPLS, Metro-Ethernet, VPN, SSL, firewalls, network management, and troubleshooting.
· Understanding of Ku, Ka-band
· Proven knowledge of LAN, WAN, and Datacenter technologies.
· Experience working with complex network systems from Cisco, Palo Alto, Avocet, etc.
· Proven experience with network protocols (switches, routers, hubs, servers, cables, racks, firewalls, etc.).
· Experience with Linux, Windows server administration, and enterprise network management tools.
· Experience with technical support/systems administration on projects using Unix-based operating systems (Red Hat Linux, Ubuntu, Solaris) and Juniper Network equipment.
· Demonstrated knowledge of a coding language (C, C++, Python or equivalent) is required to facilitate the automation initiatives.
· Experience or understanding of ARINC protocols is a plus.
· Familiarity with AS9100 and ISO9001 is preferred.
· Hands-on experience with technical writing and editing for IT systems documentation.
· Excellent customer service orientation with exceptional written and oral communication skills.
· Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
· Ability to work independently with general supervision.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
· Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
· 5+ years of network operations environment experience or 9+ years of relevant network operations experience in lieu of a 4-year degree.
· Cisco CCNP certification preferred (CCIE or equivalent a plus).
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
· Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
· Ability to travel domestically and internationally (less than 10).
