We are seeking a SMP Manufacturing Engineering Manager to support engineering activities related to the execution of the Site Separation Management Plan (SMP). This role focuses on providing manufacturing engineering support during transition activities, including inspections, equipment transfer, technical data management, and engineering project execution. The position works closely with site leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure continuity, compliance, and timely execution of separation-related tasks.

What You Will Do:

  • Coordinate Ongoing Production Run Inspection (OPRI) activities at the site level.
  • Support Last Article Inspection (LAI) and First Article Inspection (FAI) activities.
  • Develop and execute engineering action plans supporting site separation.
  • Support equipment and tooling maintenance, decommissioning, and transfer activities.
  • Manage technical data classification, documentation, and handover requirements.
  • Support engineering workstreams related to process validation and documentation.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Operations, EHS, and Supply Chain during transition activities.
  • Support audits, inspections, and technical reviews related to SMP activities.
  • Report engineering status, risks, and issues to the Site SMP Transition Lead.

What You Will Learn:

  • Execution of complex, customer-driven strategic projects.
  • Practical implementation of separation agreements in a regulated aerospace environment.
  • Effective problem-solving across customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field and a minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing or engineering.
  • Typically requires experience supporting manufacturing or production engineering activities in a regulated environment.
  • Working knowledge of Ongoing Production Run Inspection (OPRI), Last Article Inspection (LAI), and First Article Inspection (FAI) processes.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute engineering action plans and coordinate activities across cross-functional teams.
  • Experience managing multiple engineering workstreams and priorities within defined timelines.
  • Familiarity with technical data management, documentation control, and configuration management practices.
  • Experience working in aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.

Qualifications We Prefer:      

  • Experience supporting site separation, equipment transfer, or transition projects.
  • Background in production or manufacturing engineering leadership.
  • Knowledge of export control or technical data compliance.
  • Experience with Collins Aerospace products or processes.
