FLIGHT DECK is GE Aerospace’s proprietary operating model, grounded in lean in continuous improvement.The Digital Technology Senior FLIGHT DECK Leader will be partnered with CIO leadership teams and responsible for delivering measurable business impact through the activation and implementation of the FLIGHT DECK Operating System within these CIO organizations. Aligned to the Digital Technology (DT) FLIGHT DECK strategy, this role will evaluate current FLIGHT DECK (FD) capabilities and collaborate with CIO Leadership Teams and Practitioners to deploy FD fundamentals across the organization. Working in partnership with the DT FD Team, this role will provide training, coaching, and facilitation skills within the CIO organizations, supporting overall culture and FD transformation strategy. This FD Leader will be responsible for leading large-scale and complex improvement efforts to drive impactful results tied to customer value and DT effectiveness. Additionally, this leader will work with other DT FD Leaders to standardize common processes within DT aligned to common industry standards, ensuring alignment with the overall DT FD strategy.Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Sits at the CIO leadership table for strategy, metrics, action plans, problem solving and operating cadences – coaching on FD standards
Ideal candidate will have deep lean expertise and knowledge of Digital Technology / Information Technology processes and standards to be leveraged in this role, and will have comprehensive knowledge of underlying principles, approaches and lean methodology to mature his complex organization’s capabilities
Works with key leaders on improvement projects with a goal of enhanced efficiency, effectiveness, and customer value
Is a foremost subject matter expert in Lean and Six Sigma tools and implementation
Develop and present FD project plans, roadmaps, risks, and recommendations to senior DT leadership team
Inculcate lean mindset and lean thinking in the organization
Coach the leaders on lean thinking and tools
Coaches and leads Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events, while coaching and developing others to become FD practitioners and coaches
Serve as the recognized DT FLIGHT DECK coach and trainer, coaching at all levels of the organization.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience OR associates degree with minimum of 13 years professional experience OR high school diploma with 15 years of professional experience. Military experience is equivalent to professional experience
- Minimum of 7 years of senior/executive-level experience in leading process improvement and driving impact across large, complex organizations (e.g., Finance, HR, IT, Legal, etc.)
- Ability to lead continuous improvement in diverse organizations, bringing both functional and business experts together to build and sustain key improvements
- Experience using Artificial Intelligence to improve core business processes and capabilities
