Summary of Position:

Under the direction of the Vice President of Human Resources, The Senior Manager of Total Rewards (Compensation, Benefits, & HRIS) will play a critical role in shaping the overall compensation and benefits strategy for the organization.


This position is a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for overseeing the design, implementation of employee compensation, benefits, payroll, and HR systems. This position is also responsible to ensure that our compensation and benefits programs are competitive, equitable, and aligned with our business objectives. The successful person in this role will lead a team of 5 professionals (2 Payroll, 2 Compensation and Reporting, 1 Health, Welfare, and Retirement Benefits), ensuring compliance with payroll processes, and applicable policies and regulations. Additionally, this role will involve analyzing compensation and benefits data to make informed recommendations to leadership. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring compliance, driving operational efficiency through Cost of Labor reporting, executing merit bonuses & promotions, salary benchspaning, and enhancing employee satisfaction. Proficiency in HRIS platforms and payroll systems (e.g., Workday, ADP, SAP) and strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and compliance standards (e.g., FLSA, ERISA, FMLA).


This position will play a critical role in supporting the companys ability to attract, engage, and retain talent.



2. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Administers Compensation Management program (including job classification,

salary structure & performance management activities) on a day-to-day

basis, including:

  • Monitors spanetplace to ensure our pay rates & pay structure in comparison to the spanetplace, including conducting periodic spanet surveys
  • Analyzes our compensation to ensure internal fairness
  • Evaluates positions to establish appropriate pay grades
  • Coordinates annual performance appraisal processes

Oversees timekeeping process to ensure accurate & timely recording of hours

& payment.


10 Percent

Ensures compliance with Compensation Management related

regulatory requirements & laws, including but not limited to:

  • Fair Labor Standards Act
  • Equal Pay Act

5 Percent

Stays abreast of Compensation Management trends & best practices, recommending

changes to our policies & practices.



5 Percent

Administers health & welfare benefit plans, as well as retirement &

other benefit plans on a day-to-day basis, including the following benefit plans:

  1. Medical
  2. Prescription
  3. Dental
  4. Vision care
  5. Life & AD&D
  6. Short-term & long-term disability
  7. 401(k) plan
  8. Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) for medical and childcare
  9. Paid Time Off

20 Percent

Stays abreast of Benefits Management trends & best practices, recommending

changes to our benefit plans, policies & practices when applicable

or new plan year permits.

5 Percent

Ensures compliance with Benefits Management related

regulatory requirements & laws, including but not limited to:

  • ERISA, including Summary Annual Reports (SARs) & Summary Plan

Descriptions (SPDs) preparation & distribution

  • 401(k) plan non-discrimination testing and 5500 filings

10 Percent

Manages the HR Information System, including:

  • Data integrity
  • Recommending improvements & enhancements to leverage the system

10 Percent

Manages third-party service providers to include negotiation of service

agreement(s)

5 Percent

Performs other duties and fulfill other responsibilities as assigned.

3. Qualifications for Position:

A. Education

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or education/experience equivalency); Masters Degree or MBA preferred, not required.

B. Experience

10-15 years minimum of Compensation Management & Benefits Management experience at the manager level in a mid-sized or large company environment (preferably in a manufacturing environment)

C. Competencies & Attributes

1. In depth & broad knowledge of Compensation Management & Benefit Management

principles & best practices

2. Highly developed interpersonal and internal customer service skills with the ability to

manage and motivate different personalities.

3. Excellent verbal & written communications

4. Strong analytical skills

5. High level of confidentiality

6. Proven ability to manages service provider relationships

7. Sound knowledge of HR Information Systems to include: ADP, Workday SAP.

8. Knowledge and appreciation for a culturally diverse/internationally owned workforce.

D. Licensure/Certification

SPHR, PHR or CEBS preferred not required
