The Team
Our Digital Channels team work on and are responsible for the the easyjet.com ecommerce booking website. As part of the team you have the opportunity to develop front ends that handle millions of visits and transactions every month. We have modernised a lot of the experience over the last couple of year and currently there is a focus on migrating from our remaining Angular/.Net monolyth to new Next.js micro service stack.
Our teams consist of 50 developers with architects, POs, BAs, QAs that own many of our React micro frontends. The team are a mixture of easyJet developers and some of the leading digital agencies. We run an active internal developer community where you get to learn and interact with many other developers within easyJet and across our suppliers.
This is an opportunity for a passionate FE developer who wants to work on one of the UK’s busiest ecommerce website and take our front ends to the next level
JOB PURPOSE
Working in the digital channels team the senior developer is responsible for the code level development and maintenance of the easyJet.com front end applications, adhering to industry standards and best practice. The role works closely with architecture, business analysts, developers and delivery managers to deliver new products and services to meet the needs of projects and programmes within the prioritised portfolio. As part of the role you get to work with our other easyJet digital developers and with other developers from some of the leading agencies.
We are looking for someone who has experience developing digital experiences using the latest BFF patterns and micro frontend architecture. Someone who understands how to build applications but also understands that their services should be independent and quickly deployable through automated CI/CD pipelines. A person who is passionate about the applications they delivery from build through to run. The role requires someone with strong front-end development skills but will benefit from an individual who understands the entire stack and also the cloud technologies used to run the applications.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Accountable for the development and support of new and existing solutions to best practice and industry standards
- Accountable to prepare or support with designing and documenting technical solutions for functional and non-functional requirements.
- Collaborating with technical architecture and peers to identify and agree the technical standards, frameworks, tooling and patterns for the applications adhering to industry standards and best practice.
- Accountable to identify, mitigate or resolve technical risks within the solution, ensuring any risks or issues are clearly communicated and managed
- Provide technical expertise, guidance and perform technical code reviews ensuring consistency and conformity to agreed standards.
- Actively contribute during all agile ceremonies and the maturing of our dev-sec-ops capacities
- Provide technical leadership and support within the team, including mentoring, coaching and guiding more junior members.
- Keep up to date with knowledge of current software development trends and innovation in the IT industry that could be beneficial to EasyJet’s strategy.
please note this role will require 2 days a week in our Luton Airport Head Office with a further day in our London Partner office ( 3 days a week)
