Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) Sector is seeking a Procurement Manager 1 to lead a team of buyers of diverse individuals.
Responsibilities:
Manages of team of buyers that sources and purchases machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization
Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives
Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes
Confers with suppliers and analyzes suppliers operations to determine factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules
Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up orders placed, verifies delivery, approves payment, and maintains necessary records
Communicates with program customers to work and resolve challenges in the execution of the procurement efforts that are in their organization
Prepares and briefs charts to program and GSC Leadership on key performance indicators
May prepare bid packages
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of related experience, Master degree with 6 years of related experience or additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
Prior Government or Aerospace buying experience
Demonstrated ability to utilize Microsoft Office to create spreadsheets, documents, presentations. (i.e. Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
The ability to collaborate with program management and other multi-functional teams
Possess strong organizational skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision, work successfully in a fast- paced environment and apply sound judgment to problem solving
Knowledge of FAR/DFAR
Knowledge of CPSR and government audits
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security DOD clearance and Program clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with aircraft maintenance activities under US Govt. prime contracts to include spares procurement and movement.
Import / Export (ITAR) experience for movement of materials and technology
Familiar with SAP and/or Maximo procurement systems
Past Training/Mentoring of Junior level employees
Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance
Salary Range: $85,500 - $128,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
