Overview of Role
The Practice Lead, Digital Transformation & Consulting reports to the Head of Digital Business Development & Consulting and plays a key role in advancing Digital’s Business Development and Proof-of-Concept (POC) practices. This role is instrumental in building and maintaining a cohesive and scalable practice delivery framework while expanding its adoption across the organization.
The successful candidate will enable Digital Business Development team members to learn, collaborate, and share expertise across their work streams and WestJet. The practice lead will support team members in performing their tasks by providing methodology, tools, and structured guidance. Acting as the process owner for digital Business Development & POC practices, the Practice Lead ensures consistent execution of methodologies that align with WestJet’s strategy and drive success.
This is a functional lead role and does not have direct reports but holds significant responsibility for influencing and guiding key practices across the Digital team and WestJet. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape and grow WestJet’s Digital Business Development & POC practices while driving meaningful impact.
Key Deliverables:
- Create and deliver training programs to enhance team capabilities in execution.
- Lead a Community of Practice focused on POC and Digital Business Development to foster knowledge sharing, innovation, and best practice adoption.
- Host workshops, peer learning sessions, and feedback forums to enhance skill sets and promote continuous improvement.
- Leverage best practices and insights from other industries or parts of WestJet to enrich the
- Provide guidance and mentorship to other WestJetters, helping them address challenges and drive successful outcomes.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in roles focused on innovation, Digital Business Development, or related areas, with increasing responsibility and complexity.
- Extensive experience designing and implementing frameworks and methodologies for POC and Digital Business Development initiatives.
- Consulting background a plus
- Ability to align POC and Digital Business Development practices with enterprise objectives.
- Strong presentation and mentoring skills, with the ability to engage and inspire diverse audiences.
- Skilled in collaborating with and influencing senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate ambiguity and develop actionable solutions to complex challenges.
- Adept at building relationships, promoting teamwork, and leading initiatives without direct authority.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to adapt communication styles to varied audiences and contexts.
