Manager Maintenance, Regional Delivery (12 months Fixed Term Contract)

As Manager Maintenance Regional Delivery, you will lead, direct and manage dTS (dnata Technical Services) maintenance and repair activities of all vehicles and equipment assets across various dnata Airport operations and EK Group (Emirates Group) operating departments and customers, to meet their operational requirements, while supporting the strategy of dnata Airport Operations and dTS, globally. This includes but is not limited to the assets of dnata Airport Operations, EK Group departments and other customers.

You will also be responsible for providing expert support across dnata International Airport Operations ensuring alignment with dnata Technical Services vision and dnata Way (corporate governance manual). This position may require significant time deployed to our international stations.

In this role, you will:

• Implement and manage the strategic maintenance program based on industry best practices, with an emphasis on preventative and predictive maintenance.


• Participate and contribute in the budgetary process which includes target setting, plan development and performance review of the dTS sections. Takes full ownership of the department budget against actuals.


• Ensure that teams are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely manner delivering high quality and cost-effective service.


• Monitor section performance against agreed maintenance indicators, such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, serviceability index, to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.


• Direct, maintain, and enforce the safety program for the maintenance department, review safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety within the operation.


• Deliver the dTS vision, ensuring that our people live and breathe it. As part of the dTS Senior Management Team, see the vision through and make it come to life.


• Drive innovative and green environmental maintenance and GSE (Ground Support Equipment) / Cargo Equipment solutions through team creativity to delivery enhanced efficiency, LEAN methodologies and technological solutions that benefit both dTS and dnata as a whole.


• Lead by example, encourages best practices and collaboration across dTS, between the GSE groups, Cargo Terminals, workshops, and functions.


• Ensure that special projects that improve efficiency, reduce operating costs and support new ventures are executed according to the plan.


• Review the operation/performance/reliability of assets maintained constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, pro-actively anticipate problems, and ensure safe operation and identify opportunities for improvement and unit cost reduction.

To be considered for the role, you must meet the below requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Honours in Engineering preferably (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Automotive) OR Served apprenticeship and / or with demonstrable equivalent experience in the specific field of Ground Support Equipment / Material Handling System maintenance, Facilities maintenance, or Ground Handling management in an GSE Manufacturer, airline or large Ground Handling operation.


• At least 10-12 years of relevant experience in the field of Ground Support Equipment / Material Handling System maintenance management in an Airline or Ground Handler or specialist vehicle and equipment industry, including at least 5 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities.


• Knowledge and experience in maintenance management systems and telematics for the purposes of managing workshop maintenance activities.


• Advanced budgeting and cost control in a maintenance environment.
