Manager Financial Planning and Analysis

What the position is:

The Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for supporting the Flight Operations division of the airline by providing the financial planning and analysis function and serving as the financial controller for the business unit. Responsibilities include developing financial forecasts, analyzing expenditure requests, union labor contract negotiation, and assisting in developing long-term financial and strategic plans for the company.   

Essential functions:

• Work with the flight operations department leadership to prepare an accurate rolling 12-18 month forecast 
• Providing creative alternatives and recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance  
• Vendor selection and comparison 
• Track and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts 
• Labor analysis and staffing projections 
• Develop processes and procedures for robust financial analysis 
• Assist with monthly budget to actual variance analysis 
• Evaluation of expenditure requests 
• Provide support for union labor contract negotiations 

General requirements & qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 5-7 years of experience in a managerial role conducting financial planning & analysis 
• Proficient in MS office products, especially Excel 
• Self-starter who works well independently 
• Knowledge of Great Plains accounting software preferred 
• Great attention to detail
