Fleet Development Delivery Manager
Job Description:
A career without limits

Header: A career without limits

As the nation’s flag carrier, we take great pride in connecting Britain with the world and the world with Britain.

It’s something we’ve been doing for over 100 years, ever since we launched the world’s first international scheduled air service between London and Paris.

This originality has been in our blood since day one. It’s the spirit we share with the people that fly with us, our partners, and our colleagues.

So, whether you are a reassuring voice on the end of a phone, a smile at the door, under a wing keeping the turbines spinning or landing us gently in far-flung places, a job at British Airways is yours to make!

We know great things can happen when you’re inspired to think big and bring your ambition to work every day, which is why, at British Airways the sky is never the limit!

The role:

As a Fleet Development Delivery Manager, you will manage the end-to-end engineering process for new and second hand aircraft configuration, entry into service, aircraft deliveries, lease returns and disposals. To ensure a timely and costs effective delivery of the aircraft fleet plan that contributes to the strategic growth of British Airways.

Note: This role will require a significant amount of international travel often for several weeks at a time

What you’ll do:

You will be the technical interface between our aircraft manufacturers and lessors alongside the directorates within British Airways responsible for aircraft sales and leasing. You will project manage all aspects of fleet development which will involve working collaboratively with all of the Engineering departments as well as with multiple external organisations. This is to ultimately ensure that aircraft are delivered, returned or retired in a way that meets all of British Airways’ technical, regulatory and commercial obligations to our external suppliers and internal stakeholders.

What you’ll bring to British Airways:

We are looking for someone who has a strong working knowledge of aviation regulatory requirements and the application of aircraft maintenance systems. We are also looking for someone with a good understanding of the organisation, operations, products and services across the aviation industry. A good commercial acumen will also be essential to performing the role and understanding of finance will be beneficial. An ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across multiple departments and organisations is also a key function of the role

Your experience:
  • 3+ years aircraft maintenance or technical experience in operational/support roles
  • Demonstrable project management experience including managing multiple streams
  • An understanding of the technical, contractual and regulatory requirements of aircraft fleet management
  • Experience of financial and corporate governance
