About the Role The Aircraft Assembly Supervisor will oversee and lead a team of approximately 20 skilled professionals, including aircraft assemblers, A&P mechanics, and canopy builders. In this role, you will ensure operational excellence by driving safety, quality, and productivity in a fast-paced assembly environment. This is an opportunity to play a critical role in achieving production goals and delivering exceptional products to customers.
Key Responsibilities Leadership and Supervision - Supervise, train, and mentor a team of technicians, fostering a culture of empowerment and accountability.
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and conduct regular evaluations.
- Make hiring decisions and implement disciplinary actions as needed.
Production Oversight - Ensure all assembly activities meet quality standards, safety protocols, and deadlines.
- Coordinate daily production tasks to align with schedules and organizational objectives.
- Oversee the use of work instructions, blueprints, and technical documentation.
Continuous Improvement - Identify and resolve bottlenecks and quality concerns using root cause analysis.
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize workflows.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to address customer issues and implement solutions.
Operational Management - Manage inventory levels to ensure the availability of critical components.
- Develop and enforce production schedules, minimizing delays.
- Monitor workstation layouts and workflows to improve productivity.
- Support the adoption of new technologies and equipment to enhance capabilities.
Qualifications Experience and Skills - 5+ years of leadership experience in assembly or manufacturing, preferably in aerospace or related industries.
- Hands-on expertise in mechanical assembly and precision craftsmanship.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Exceptional communication and team leadership capabilities.
Technical Proficiency - Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documentation.
- Competence in Microsoft Office and ERP systems for reporting and communication.
Preferred Experience - Experience building RV aircraft or similar projects is a plus.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and process improvement techniques.
Work Environment - Operates in a factory setting with varying temperatures.
- Requires standing for extended periods and handling parts up to 50 pounds.
- PPE is mandatory to ensure a safe work environment.
