Position Summary
MAG Aerospace is seeking to hire a Mechanical Engineer SME to join our team at the Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD) in Pennsylvania!
In this role, you will be responsible for the development of the designs, plans and specifications as well as the installation of electrical and mechanical connections. Additionally, you will be responsible for installing complex satellite communications equipment of extensive size and complexity for use at various CONUS and OCONUS facilities. This position sets program policy and leads several lower grade personnel in achieving program goals and objectives.

**This position requires a DoD Secret Clearance or the eligibility to obtain the clearance**
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Serving as the Depots project design and installation lead and as the technical authority on one or more complex weapon/communication systems
- Providing technical guidance to the customer and TYAD management officials for existing and new systems which TYAD is responsible for the design, development, fabrication, and Technical Data Packages (TDP)
- The point of contact for TDP development and issues
- Becoming thoroughly familiar with the new system by interfacing with the PM, project engineers, and through technical research. You will be TYADs technical expert, advisor, and central point of contact for the program/project manager
- Reviewing all PM requirements for technical guidance to assure the PMs system requirements will be met
- Participating with PM representatives preparing Statements of Work (SOWs), Project Management Plans (PMPs), Material Fielding Plans (MFPs), Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMPs), cost estimates, bill of materials and presentations. You will work with the PM in developing system level requirements. This entails system expectations, defining required equipment, and overall system functionality to assure that the final products requirements will meet customer and system requirements
- Performing engineering analysis to verify design concepts, system integrity and safety
- Responsible for installation of equipment at various sites
- Providing managerial leadership and guidance to engineering, shops, and Production Management
- Making assignments to personnel associated with the given project to ensure completion
- Communicating with the branch and division chief regarding all situations relating to the project
Requirements
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of the techniques and theories characteristic of electronics/electronic theory, and utilization of the Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) system and manufacturing capabilities
- Ability to apply general knowledge of electronics and to transfer experience and knowledge of complex electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems and subsystems of highly complex communication/weapons systems or assemblies
- Must possess in-depth electronics knowledge and program management skills to make sound decisions, provide guidance, and ensure success on design, integration, and fabrication
- Firm grasp of engineering concepts and experience designing mechanical systems/products
- Excellent math skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems
- Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
- Creativity and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and concise manner
- Must be self-motivated and a great team member
Education
- 8+ years of experience working in engineering
Desired Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or in a related field (with coursework in advanced mathematics being a plus)
- Certified Electrician
Other Requirements
- Must be a U.S Citizen
- Must possess an active DoD Secret Clearance or be eligible to obtain one
- Will need to travel to command and PM sites representing TYAD to describe TYADs capability to perform various design, analysis, and manufacturing tasks. Travel may be up to 25 unless a major effort is underway at which travel may increase temporarily

The projected compensation range for this position is $120000 to $140000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of MAGs total compensation package for employees.
