Job Summary:
To assemble and seal integral fuel cells. May be required to work under the assistance of higher grade
sealers.
Job Responsibilities:
• Performs a variety of operations in preparing, sealing and testing "wet wing" fuel cells.
o Performs fay surface, pre-pack, injection, fillet and brush coat aircraft sealing operations
according to oral and written instructions and standard shop practices.
o Performs sheet metal assembly as necessary to build up wing fuel cells including drilling,
countersinking, fitting, trimming, riveting, etc. Follows established cleaning procedures
prior to sealing using specified solvent, lint-free cloth, pipe cleaners and/or funnel
brushes.
o Tests assembled wings by applying required amount of air and ammonia solution under
pressure and checks for leaks.
• Performs any rework required to include removing old sealant, re-cleaning and re-sealing to
prevent leaks and failure of parts to meet specifications.
• Requires the use of a variety of sheet metal hand and power tools, and sealing tools such as
spatulas, scrapers, rollers, sealing gun, fairing tool and durometer.
• Responsible for quality of own work.
• Performs other related duties as required.
