Position Purpose
* Performs a variety of operations to manufacture and fabricate sheet metal and extrusion parts. As well as displays the ability to plan, layout, and interpret blueprints, and sketches to all engineering specifications. Basic Qualifications(Required Skills/Experience)
*High School Diploma or GED equivalent
*A minimum of 3 years of recent related skills, i.e. auto body repairs, boat repairs. (Sheet Metal Fabrication)
*Heat Treat - Able to work in hot and cold environments, able to lift more than 20 pounds, and stand or be on their feet for long periods of time. Sets up, and operates heating equipment such as heat-treating furnaces to temper, and anneal metal, and operates age hardening oven. Record times from furnaces to document that metal has attained specified temperatures for a specific time.
*Cell 15 - Experience working with Band saw, chop saw, table saw, drill press, hand drill, hand router, roll form machine and able to lift more than 20 pounds and stand for long period of time.
*Mechanic experience
*Experienced with drilling, routing, and sawing
*Experienced with reading and fabricating blueprint specifications
*Ability to use hand tools, calipers, protractors, tape measure, high gauge, scale ruler, etc.
*Demonstrated competency in the use of computers and other systems to access, maintain, and manipulate data
*Possess attention to detail
*Must have problem-solving skills
*Ability to work well in a team environment as well as be a self-starter with minimum supervision Job Duties
*Sheet metal forming skills such as bending, and stretching implemented by shrinking tools, dies and punching, and air grinders.
*Displays ability to plan, layout, and interpret blueprints, and sketches to all engineering specifications; determines the sequence of operations, number of required cuts, and method of setup.
*Makes standard shop calculations relating to dimensions of work tooling, feeds, and speeds.
*Uses a variety of hand tools and precision measuring instruments.
*May monitor and verify quality with statistical processes or other control procedures.
*Follow all safety guidelines.
*Follow all policies and procedures.
*Performs other duties as assigned.
