Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies and final assemblies.
Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments or equipment.
Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process.
Works with engineers in conducting experiments.
Technician could end up performing any number of tasks. Examples of the kind of tasks are as follows: assembling large tooling structures, using two-part epoxies for bonding, assembling small/delicate mechanical flight hardware, working with and assembling composite structures, sewing/stitching mesh fabric.
Using assigned work instructions and assembly drawings to perform an assortment of Technician tasks (see above). Knowing and understanding how to read blueprint type assembly drawings is a big plus.
