Description:

Company specializes in designing, fabricating and testing of lightweight Aerospace Structures. JD: responsible for setting up and operating various CNC machines using Fanuc and Siemen Controllers, including both 3 + 4 axis. They will perform high quality-low volume machining of metal, composite, and graphite parts in a Aerospace Production environment. They are responsible for selecting and mounting tooling, determining feed and operating speeds, performing cut off, trimming, counter sinking, drilling, and checking parts for dimensional accuracy. The Machinist must demonstrate a strong knowledge and understanding of blueprints, shop math, and the ability to transfer files from a computer to a numeric controller. Responsibilities: Set up and operate production machine tools Select and mount appropriate tooling for machining operations Determine the appropriate feed and operating speeds for efficient machining Perform cut off, trimming, counter sinking, drilling, and other machining operations Verify the dimensional accuracy of machined parts using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to understand machining requirements Utilize shop math skills to perform calculations and ensure accurate machining processes Transfer computer files to the numeric controller to initiate machining operations Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and productivity Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure proper functioning Identify and communicate any issues or concerns regarding machine performance or product quality Maintain accurate documentation of machining operations, including production logs and inspection records

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Requirements: • High School diploma or equivalent • Minimum of 3-5 years of machining experience with both setting up and running, Horizontal experience preferably on a Breton or Komo or any machine that uses a fanuc controller. • Ability to read and interpret work instructions and technical diagrams • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment • Willingness to join and comply with union rules and regulations • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision other Qualifications: Machining Certificate If you have completed 8,000-hour apprenticeship program for the Machinist trade, or equivalent in training, and demonstrated 4 or more years, you may be considered for our Journey level position
