The selected candidate be providing support with underwriting, risk engineering, and accounting support to the Manager Insurance for all insurance programmes across the Group, encompassing both self-insured and externally insured covers.
In this role, you will:
- Independently manage, negotiate, and price assigned insurance covers for both UAE and outstations, including motor, workmen’s compensation, and industrial injury insurance.
- Prepare quotation specifications and tailor policy wordings to ensure optimal and cost-effective coverage aligned with business needs.
- Gather and analyse underwriting, risk engineering, and insurance data to assess exposures and determine appropriate coverage levels, securing terms independently in coordination with Manager Insurance.
- Provide technical input on risk management, participate in site visits, evaluate risk matrices, and support implementation of recommendations to improve risk quality and negotiate cost-effective covers.
- Validate premium calculations, compile statistical reports, and highlight trends or variances for timely corrective action and programme optimisation.
- Prepare and review non-standard policy wordings, quotations, tenders, and endorsements, raising discrepancies and ensuring contract accuracy and compliance.
- Support Manager Insurance on high-value or complex covers by analysing data, evaluating alternatives, and recommending strategies for negotiation.
- Ensure timely issuance and reconciliation of policies, endorsements, and certificates, maintain accurate databases, and initiate renewal planning three months before expiry.
QualificationIn order to be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a related Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent).
- 5+ years working within the Insurance industry.
Youll have an edge if you have:
- Licentiate or Associate of Insurance Institute preferred.
- Demonstrate strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with well-developed drafting ability.
- Comprehensive knowledge of insurance industry standards and business practices.
- Work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
