BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
- 5+ years of experience with mechanical or electromechanical design and analysis (professional experience, internships, and significant student project experience qualifies)
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Strong first-principles understanding of engineering fundamentals
- Proficient and frequent use of hand calculations, finite element analyses (FEA), and computer-aided designs (CAD)
- Domain knowledge of power component design fundamentals (e.g. motors, inverters, batteries, solar, or energy storage systems) with the ability to define test plans, design test setups, and execute hardware environmental qualification tests
- Exposure to high volume production designs with a focus on design for manufacturability
- Self-motivated with strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills - ability to work well in an integrated team including daily interactions with technicians, engineers, managers, and suppliers
- Solid understanding and application of GD&T
- Experience working with PCB designers and exposure to PCB layout
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be willing to travel as needed to Starbase launch facility – Brownsville, TX
- Extended hours and weekend work may be required to support critical project and mission milestones
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Power Electronics Engineer/Senior: $130,000.00 - $200,000.00/per year
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
