Lead Systems / Electrical Engineer
Manassas, VA
Contract Position
$73.26-$78.26/Hour
Contribute to a company at the forefront of mission-critical systems and technologies in defense and security. This leader in global defense integrates advanced technology to deliver information and insights on the battlefield, offering roles that support security and technological superiority across multiple domains.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, integration, and testing of high-power sonar systems, ensuring performance and reliability for U.S. Navy submarine platforms.
- Work with development, system engineering, and production teams to identify, analyze, document, and resolve hardware deficiencies.
- Troubleshoot and resolve transmit group hardware issues in system integration, production, and power lab environments.
- Create, review, and execute hardware design documentation, including interface control drawings, assembly drawings, and test procedures.
- Develop technical presentations and reports for program management and Navy stakeholders.
- Research and define product specifications and interface requirements.
- Evaluate components to assess performance impacts on existing designs and resolve hardware/software compatibility issues.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including U.S. Navy representatives and industry partners, to ensure system requirements are met.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field; or a Master’s degree with reduced experience requirements.
- Clearance: Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
- Experience:
- 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering, system integration, or related fields (6+ years with a Master’s degree).
- Leadership experience managing technical teams or projects.
- Expertise in power/analog hardware, circuit card design, and electronics troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with hardware and system integration testing, including Assembly Level, Unit, Integration, and System Performance Testing.
- Experience with Linux-based systems.
- Knowledge of hardware development processes throughout a program’s lifecycle.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in high-speed circuit card design incorporating embedded processors or FPGAs.
- Background in acoustics, sonar applications, or linear amplifier design.
- Familiarity with electro-mechanical manufacturing and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
- Understanding of computer-aided engineering (CAE) and power/analog hardware systems.
