Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Senior Principal Engineer Systems Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.
In this role, you will design and develop system architectures and define key capabilities and performance requirements. Also, define design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with customer specifications. Develops thorough definition of system external interfaces. Defines system implementation approach and operational concept. Ensures requirements are met and evaluates performance with customer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designs and develops system architectures and defines key capabilities and performance requirements
- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems
- Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
- Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
- Defines design and technology maturity constraints of the system in accordance with customer specifications
- Develops thorough definition of system external interfaces
- Defines system implementation approach and operational concept.

Basic Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline AND 8 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 6 years of related professional/military experience OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military experience
- Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the Company
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Systems Integration and Test
- Experience in SysML
- Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Systems Engineering, with experience using Model Based Systems Engineering
- Applied knowledge of aircraft design
- Experience in the military aerospace development environment is preferred
- Experienced developing various DODAF view artifacts, especially Operational and functional viewpoints, using MBSE tools like CAMEO
Salary Range: $114,900 - $172,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
