Job Description:
STS Engineering Solutions is hiring a remote Senior Aircraft Structures Engineer – AOG (Aircraft on Ground) Focus to provide rapid engineering support to clients with critical AOG needs. This role involves daily liaison engineering support, including repair design, structural analysis, calculations, and certification. If you possess strong communication skills, expertise in structural repairs, and in-depth knowledge of aviation regulations, we encourage you to apply directly with our Engineering team. Key Responsibilities
  • Engineering Support: Deliver fast-response engineering solutions for line and check aircraft, focusing on AOG situations that demand immediate attention.
  • Repair Design & Analysis: Develop repair schemes and perform structural analysis, supporting calculations to substantiate both major and minor repairs.
  • Customer Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for customers, managing project timelines, needs, and deliverables throughout the repair/modification development.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Demonstrate a strong understanding of Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs), Service Bulletins (SBs), Airworthiness Directives (ADs), and Advisory Circulars to ensure all solutions meet compliance standards.
  • OEM Data Utilization: Leverage technical data from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to develop precise repair schemes.
  • Material and Process Optimization: Identify and validate alternate materials and processes, balancing design requirements, weight, safety, and reliability.
  • Project Updates: Provide ongoing status updates to management regarding work progress.
  • Availability: Willingness to work weekend or overnight shifts as required by urgent AOG cases.
Required Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university.
  • Preferred: Aviation or Mechanical Engineering background.
Experience
  • Previous experience in the aviation industry with a focus on airline support, structural repairs, MRO, liaison/MRB engineering, or related areas.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Structural Analysis Expertise: Skilled in performing structural analysis to substantiate aircraft repairs.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Thorough understanding of applicable FARs and industry standards.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with customers and internal teams.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiar with OEM technical data, including Engineering Drawings, Structural Repair Manuals, and Aircraft Maintenance Manuals.

  • Strong goal-oriented approach with proven experience in liaison engineering, creativity, and regulatory compliance.
