We are seeking a well-qualified Principle Systems Engineer with a Secret security clearance to join our team developing US Department of Defense (DoD) / Intelligence Community (IC) systems.  

This position involves participating as a team member to develop, design, document and deploy complex information systems everywhere from the Data center to the tactical edge, supporting the warfighter with the tools they need to perform the most sensitive and complex missions. The successful candidate will be responsible for the modeling of new systems as well as existing systems.  

The candidate will utilize their MBSE expertise during the development, production, and integration phases of system design. The candidate will develop solutions that meet product requirements and prepare documentation of MBSE structures for use in production, integration, and testing. The candidate will provide guidance on issues to the project team, working closely with systems, electrical, mechanical analysis, and test engineers during model development. The candidate will be expected to work on multiple projects, in an enthusiastic team environment. The successful candidate will have experience with the development of models for complex DoD/IC systems and the ability to effectively perform in a dynamic, agile development environment while closely coordinating with a geographically dispersed team.  

What You Will Do​

• Responsible for capturing the DIPN architecture and/or design in a system engineering tool.
• Collaborate with other DIPN IPTs to understand the architecture and design, and ultimately capture the subsystems architecture, interactions, and data flows between the components.
• Experience with Systems engineering tools (i.e. Cameo Suite) and Agile framework

Qualifications You Must Have 

• Working with the planning team to create conceptual data models and data flows, developing best practices for data coding to ensure consistency within the system, implementing data strategies and developing physical data models, and troubleshooting and optimizing data systems.
• Evaluating implemented data systems for variances, discrepancies, and efficiency, reviewing modifications of existing systems for cross-compatibility, and updating and optimizing local and possible metadata models.
• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance ​

Qualifications We Prefer​

• Proven experience designing and configuring military compute and networking equipment, to including military use of commercial cloud provider edge equipment
• Familiarity with technical specifications of compute, storage, and network infrastructures, to include commercial cloud hardware offerings
• Familiarity with hardware stack design tools and views, proven experience drawing and refining rack elevations
• Experience with Molecule testing framework
• Experience with using Packer to create images

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
