What You Will Do:
In Afterspanet & Sustainment Engineering (ASE), our Methods team is developing game-changing, cloud-scale software solutions to transform our afterspanet business and reinvent how afterspanet inspection data is captured and utilized across engineering. Our Digital Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (DMRO) initiative is empowering engineering teams across the business to make better design decisions informed by fielded part inspection data and the application of cutting-edge software and AI/ML technologies.
Our DMRO team is seeking a talented and driven principal software engineer to support our mission and develop full stack software applications in support of our afterspanet business. This individual will be instrumental in developing exciting prototypes and executing the software development lifecycle (SDLC) for the delivery of scalable, productionized software systems.
- Execution of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of software tools and workflows for the engineering organization.
- Development of rapid proof of concept software solutions to benchspan new technologies and iterate on software product requirements and design concepts.
- Collaborate and regularly communicate with other team members and key stakeholders, including technical leaders across the enterprise.
- Architect and implement robust, scalable, and secure application infrastructure in a Cloud environment.
- Leverage software best practices and modern CI/CD tooling to develop and maintain high-quality code.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science and 8+ years of relevant experience OR an advanced degree in Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science and 5+ years of relevant experience.
- 1+ years of experience in ANY of the following: Python, JavaScript, AWS, SQL, NoSQL.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Hands on Cloud experience or certification, especially in Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Experience with JavaScript Frameworks such as React and Vue
- Experience developing Python-based applications or workflows
- Experience with database technology such as SQL or NoSQL
- Experience architecting serverless or event-based applications
- Experience working in an agile environment

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). If you live within a reasonable commute of an RTX site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
