Summary

The Principal Electrical Engineer role is designed to be a key technical resource for FM&T and is recognized as the primary authority in electrical engineering or associated engineering/scientific fields. This position is responsible for planning and conducting complex engineering research and development projects necessitating the expert application of advanced knowledge. This position will be working under administrative and FM&T direction with considerable latitude for autonomous actions to independently resolve issues and follow organizational directives.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Leads strategic planning for a long-range resource technology, major technical projects or multiple projects of major scope and complexity that significantly impact the business.
  • Plans, organizes, and conducts complex engineering projects necessitating expert application of advanced knowledge in a particular field.
  • Evaluates the impact of relevant emerging technology and business trends. Uses business knowledge to develop, evaluate, and prioritize business opportunities based on technical factors.
  • Reviews business unit/portfolio level project scope and performance.
  • Champions development of novel technology, integrative approaches to key problems facing FM&T, and/or significant advances in Honeywell & FM&T capabilities.
  • May negotiate critical issues with other companies and organizations.
  • Advises and consults as technical expert to other technical and administrative personnel to drive and implement short and long-term projects.
  • May represent the KCNSC in outside discussions and technical forums.
  • Mentors lower-level engineers, scientists, and technicians establishing operating procedures on new products and components.
You Must Have
  • Ability to travel up to 20 of the time.
  • Ability to work on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the business.
  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET accredited program in Engineering or Physics.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in engineering or related technical activities.
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this job.
