Summary of job description
A Project Lead for the Commercial Programs team will plan, organize, and manage technical projects from conception to completion to support a specific Commercial Product Platform’s goals and objectives.
- Specific duties include:
- Create and maintain project plans, determine required deliverables and milestones, assign resources and estimate tasks;
- Manage and control testing, risks and contingency plans, budget, deliverables, and project changes
- Capture and maintain process and product requirements defined by Subject Matter Experts
- Collaborate with external suppliers, partners, and internal departments (multiple engineering disciplines, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, IT).
- Coordinate design reviews for manufacturing builds, tooling, engineering changes and configuration management tasks
- Create project schedules from scratch and develop resource skill profiles
- Manage schedules on multiple projects concurrently
- Develop capital requirements, equipment needed, and facility plans to support programs
- Develop new project management and system analysis tools and capture best practices / lessons learned
Minimum required qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering. Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical or other related Engineering discipline is strongly preferred
- 2 years of Engineering experience, 5 years preferred
- Previous experiences in various business units is highly desirable
- Previous project engineering experience is a plus
- Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
- Proficient user of MS Project and Excel
- Primavera system knowledge is a plus
- Able to travel abroad 5-10% of time (as needed)
- Excellent command of English is required for this position, as it involves communication in English with Bell teams outside of Quebec and/or its suppliers, partners, and clients outside of Quebec
- Demonstrated success of driving resolution of complex technical problems as a team leader.
