Job Description:

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree such as Aviation, Math, Science and/or Business or other related field from a recognized college or university. May substitute one year of directly related experience for one year of education.
  • At least 3 years of progressively increasing experience in Quality Assurance or related fields including:
  • The application of quality assurance principles, such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, Failure mode and effect analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis / A3 Problem Solving
  • Quality systems including ISO9001, AS9100
  • Experience and ability to compile data and perform analysis for the purpose of reporting
  • Experience scheduling, performing and documenting internal system and process based audits
  • Experience in an FAA or EASA Part 145 and/or Part 21 regulated environment including knowledge of aircraft related processes
  • Ability to manage projects including setting of agendas, meeting management, tracking and reporting of progress toward established goals.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrate ability to express concepts clearly and concisely in verbal and written communications.
  • Must be proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and move about the factory floor, other offices, and onboard aircraft with or without reasonable accommodation.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Quality Auditor Certification
  • FAA Certification – Airframe and other
  • Functional French language skill
  • Some skill in digital photography

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Office environment. Must be able to work at a desk and computer for significant portions of the day.
  • Must not be sensitive to noise, heat, cold, humidity, etc. as research aboard aircraft and in various manufacturing shops is required.
  • Must be able to travel in support of company objectives.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

  • “CRITICAL” Coordinate, implement and monitor the compliance of AS9100 standard requirements/programs.
  • “CRITICAL” Coordinate, implement and monitor the compliance of FAA / EASA requirements / programs.
  • Perform technical investigations and analysis to produce quality reports allowing corrective and preventive action.
  • Facilitates the creation of cohesive process definitions by bringing together responsible managers and interested parties to arbitrate and define critical-path processes in the management systems for continuous improvement.
  • Develop, create and maintain the Quality Indicators to increase value and reduce cost.
  • Prepare top-level process status reports and provides briefings to management as required.
  • Perform internal and/or external audits in support of quality system and regulatory program requirements.
  • Participate with outside third party audits, coordinate reporting and responses to corrective action requests.
  • Support outside third party audits including coordination and closure of assigned actions and special projects / investigations.
  • Coordinate and execute outside audit service contract.
  • Conduct product audits of parts or assemblies for conformity to design data
  • Coach and mentor others.

NON-PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

  • Encourage innovation which increases quality and customer satisfaction while decreasing cost through example, work environment, and motivation.
  • Interfaces across departments to suggest and implement process improvements that result in reduced operational expenses and increased value to internal and external customers.
  • Provides management-level training in quality assurance methodologies.
  • Special Projects as requested by Management
  • Other duties as assigned.
