Are you our new Data Engineer in Bodø?
As a Data Engineer, you will be a driving force in how we collect, structure, and utilize data across the entire organization. You will be a key person in further developing a modern data platform and solutions that provide insight, automation, and innovation.
We are continuing to grow and are looking for more skilled and experienced employees for our development teams. With over 30 employees in Bodø, Norwegian has one of Nordlands largest and most exciting development environments.

In this role you will be responsible for:
As a Data Engineer at Norwegian, you will receive extensive trust and freedom to turn various problems into technical solutions. The position offers a varied and content-rich workday with, among other things, the following tasks:
- Develop and maintain robust and scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for collecting and transforming data from various sources.
- Design and manage data models and data structures that facilitate effective analysis and reporting.
- Ensure high data quality, traceability, and documentation in all stages of data processing.
- Collaborate with development teams and professional communities to understand needs and ensure that data solutions meet business requirements.
- Contribute to the further development of our data platform and participate in technology assessments and architectural choices.
- Use Git and modern development tools for version control and collaboration.
- Contribute insight into analysis needs and support the development of visualizations and reports.
You are our ideal candidate if:
- A master’s degree in data science, computer science, statistics/mathematics, or a related field (bachelor’s minimum)
- Experience with data integration, ETL, data pipelines, and data platforms such as Snowflake, dbt, Azure Synapse, and AWS
- Proficiency in Python or similar data science tools
- Experience with data visualization and dashboarding in Power BI
- Knowledge of machine learning and statistical analysis (a plus)
- Strong ownership, collaboration, and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical insights to non-technical stakeholders
- A proactive mindset, positive attitude, and strong professional interest
Additional experience is a plus:
- Scrum or other agile methods
- Azure, AWS, MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL
- Integration and messaging technologies such as ElasticSearch, IBM MQ, or similar
- Fluency in Norwegian (written and spoken) and good working knowledge of English
