Position Details- Job Type: Full-Time Contract (12 months)
- Location: Mesa, AZ
- Schedule: Monday – Friday 9x80 schedule
- Pay Rate: $54.41 per hour
What You’ll DoAs a Mass Properties Engineer, you’ll work at the intersection of design and performance, ensuring aerospace systems meet critical weight and balance requirements. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining mass properties models for launch vehicles and subsystems
- Performing weight and balance analysis, including optimization of mass distribution
- Establishing and tracking design target weights throughout the product lifecycle
- Managing mass properties accounting systems and providing performance trend analysis
- Supporting design reviews, proposals, and technical documentation
- Conducting component weighing and verification to improve estimate accuracy
- Presenting technical findings to engineering teams and program leadership
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather data and communicate project status
- Ensuring compliance with performance, safety, and mission requirements
What You BringRequired Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related STEM field
- 0–5 years of engineering experience (entry-level candidates encouraged to apply)
- Basic understanding of CAD tools and engineering modeling
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with mass properties concepts (center of gravity, inertia, weight distribution)
- Programming experience with Access VBA or Excel macros
- Ability to work independently and manage projects with minimal supervision
- Exposure to aerospace systems or launch vehicle programs through academic or professional experience
