Daher is looking for a Sr IT Systems Administrator to join our team at our headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.This position has responsibility for supporting a server infrastructure of varying systems used in both production environments and office locations in North America. Serve as the primary technical resource supporting Microsoft Windows server systems including automation, virtualization, networking, and security. Environments will include but not limited to VMware, Hyper V, MS Azure, and Microsoft VDI.
Responsibilities include both daily activities of maintaining and tuning a mixture of virtual and physical servers, storage systems, backups, and disaster recovery platforms along with design and architecture for future state environments.
This position will be the lead for working with global teams and professional services partners to set up NOC monitoring, remote systems administration, and onsite support when needed. Design duties include analyzing business requirements, gathering end-user input, and offering solutions. Development duties include coding, testing, debugging, and maintaining applications critical to the day-to-day operation of the company.Job description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all server and storage hardware and software as well as any related systems and key processes.
Review system and application logs and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Ensure availability and performance of the hardware and OS supporting the infrastructure in a 24x7x365 environment.
Maintain multiple operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.) through troubleshooting, updates, upgrades, etc.
Manage and monitor VMWare, Hyper V, and VDI environments.
Administer the Office365 environment – including the add and termination of users, monitoring of threat/spam e-mail, and use of included tools such as SharePoint and Teams.
Maintain Active Directory, Domain, DNS, SSL certs, and related technologies to support the secure and reliable access to the network and servers.
Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with the standards and project/operational requirements.
Assist in the planning, design, documentation, and implementation of various systems related to the current and future infrastructure while working with larger teams including members from headquarters in France.
Work with a services partner to provide guidance and 2nd level support to the team for critical components and complex issues.
Provide trend analysis to the management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management.
Research and recommend innovative; and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
Maintain excellent communication with all stake holders.
Perform on-site and remote technical support as needed.
Develop and maintain processes for on-call duties, system updates, and emergency support during national holidays for maintenance and deployments.
Document Standard Operating Procedures and customizations.
Provide guidance and mentoring for more junior administrators
Position Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required, bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred.
Minimum 5+ years’ managing Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, Exchange, etc. including monitoring and tuning.
Experience with MS SQL Server and MySQL databases required.
Minimum 5 years’ experience with virtual platforms (VMware EXSi, Citrix, Hyper V, etc.)
Experience with SAN platforms such as NetApp, Pure, EMC, HP 3Par.
Minimum 5 years’ with Veeam backup and recovery best practices
Proven experience working in a team that supports a high availability infrastructure, 24x7x365 environment.
Minimum 3 years’ experience with Microsoft Azure environments including solution provisioning and solution architecture.
Systems Administration / System Engineer certifications are a plus.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in various forms and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Administration of Microsoft Government Cloud environments.
5+ years’ experience with data center architecture and design.
