Becoming the best airline is an adventure. And our Pricing & Revenue Management team is providing fuel for that journey by ensuring that we maximize our ticket revenue on every single flight across our network – both domestically and internationally – while giving our customers various product offerings for their travel. By analyzing market trends and forecasting consumer demand, this team works hard to ensure we are selling the right number of tickets at the right price to optimize our revenue and run a profitable airline.
Key Responsibilities: The Senior Analyst – Distribution Intelligence will design, build, and implement a process to find opportunities to improve United revenue or reduce cost of sale from select sellers. This process will entail using various data sources to identify and research travel agency selling practices which conflict with United’s contracted agency program terms and/or booking and ticketing policies. They will apply a data driven approach to discover all potential violations including pricing discrepancies, policy breaches, payment violations, currency manipulation and product misrepresentations. They will also validate the issue and collect evidence regarding potential violations by auditing consumer facing websites and partner displays. After preparing research and findings, they will work with Sales to engage the agencies involved and to resolve all violations and issues.
- Support the design, implementation, and delivery of a process to audit the selling activities of agencies: Focus on identifying seller activities and practices that conflict with United’s Sales program terms and/or booking and ticketing policies. Also uses booking and revenue data to identify ARC/IATA appointed agencies with incremental revenue opportunity or potential distribution savings. Collaborate and share the opportunities with Sales Account Managers and assist with strategy, action planning and possible remediations.
- Remediation: Collaborate with Sales in performing business development tasks to help agencies adopt compliant practices
- Support: Supporting agencies, aggregators and GDSs with questions throughout the implementation process
- Ad-hoc analytics projects: In coordination with Sales Strategy and Effectiveness, will support ongoing efforts which place United in a more compelling and competitive position with our agency portfolio.
Note: This position provides a hybrid work arrangement with in-office requirements 50 of the time at Uniteds corporate headquarters in Chicago, IL.

QualificationsWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications): - Bachelors degree or 4 years of relevant work experience
- 3+ years in an analytical role
- Significant experience with online travel agencies and metasearch engines and knowledge of corresponding data sources
- Knowledge of airline distribution systems and models
- Experience assisting cross functional teams to deliver on time and under budget results
- Proficient with SQL and/or relational database queries with experience in data mining
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Power Point
- Ability to present findings in a format that will allow collaborators to make effective decisions
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; fluent in English
- Effective coaching abilities
- Proven business sense
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Adaptable to change and function in a demanding environment
- Ability to travel for meetings and trainings
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
- Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
- Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

- United Sales Tools: U4B Blueprint, Seismic, Customer360 and PowerBI
- Proficient in Salesforce

The base pay range for this role is $79,800.00 to $108,790.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
