Boeing Italy is currently hiring Business Strategy and Government Affairs Specialist for Italy & Southern Europe based out of Rome.
The position reports directly to the Managing Director for Italy & Southern Europe and works closely with the Business Units leaders and other functions of the organization across the Enterprise.
The position plays a critical role in the design, development and execution of the company’s globalization strategy and business plans in Southern Europe (Italy, Spain, Portugal, Greece, etc.) as well as in managing and growing relations with stakeholders across the Region.
Position Responsibilities:
- Developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with commercial and defense stakeholders to foster positive Boeing perceptions.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of the Southern Europe strategy and business units’ initiatives/campaigns working with the country teams and the Boeing Business Units; collaborating internally to ensure alignment between government affairs efforts and overall business strategy.
- Analyzing and understanding customers, spanet trends and future requirements; monitoring competitors, industries and customers activities and strategies and evaluating current and potential implications for Boeing business interests; maintaining internal reporting as relevant.
- Both independently and as member of the team, developing and maintaining relations with institutional stakeholders in the key countries in order to:
- provide high value intel on political dynamics of interest to Boeing;
- articulate and communicate the companys positions on key issues effectively;
- provide guidance on potential regulatory/policy impacts on business operations and Company’s policies.
- Assisting the MD and other senior Boeing executives in gaining access to key, top-level leaders, prepare and accompany them in meetings with government officials and business leaders. Coordinating the visits and briefings for company leaders within the Country.
- Identifying critical local stakeholders, target audiences and supporting with key messages development and deploying strategies.
- Establishing and maintaining the presence and reputation of the Boeing Company by building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, potential partners, government, business, media, community and other leaders in the country.
- Representing Boeing at events, conferences, technical meetings, and other public fora.
- Coordinating Enterprise projects and Company’s events with government and industry partners.
- Engaging in relevant industry or governmental forums/ associations, representing the companys viewpoint and achieving common goals.
This position is onsite, based in our Rome office. Whilst the selected candidate will be required to perform the activities based in the primary location of the job posting, the role may also require working outside of standard hours during the week (e.g. representing Boeing at government related events) and the occasional weekend (e.g. at airshows). The applicant must be prepared to occasionally travel in-country, as well as internationally.
Qualifications:
- University level degree preferably in business management, economics and/or international relations. Master Degree will be a plus.
- 5+ years of relevant working experience preferably with a multinational company or consultancy. Aerospace and defense experience will be a plus.
- Proven ability to work collaborative and constructively as member of a team as well as individually, including on ad hoc assignments.
- Sound political acumen, geopolitical literacy, business orientation as well as financial and legal insight, with a solid network of business contacts in the focus countries.
- Propensity and experience in constructing and managing stakeholder relationships.
- Excellent cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, excellent judgment, discretion.
- Exceptional presentation and writing skills, including experience in writing strategic plans and messages.
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Italian. Fluent Spanish and/or Greek will be a plus.
Work Authorisation:
This requisition is for a locally hired position in Italy. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work immediately in Italy. Boeing will not attempt to obtain Immigration and labour sponsorship for any applicants.
Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
Relocation:
