MileagePlus (MP) is the loyalty marketing division of United Airlines focused on improving member loyalty to increase engagement of our current member base as well as attract new members. MileagePlus is a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a focus on expanding our award offerings and manage them to increase the value of the loyalty program for our members and United Airlines.
This position will focus on managing, pricing and optimizing air transportation award products. Drive earnings through initiatives that include increasing product breadth and adoption, pricing, optimizing cost, coordinating marketing and promotional campaigns. The Analyst will leverage an understanding of business drivers and design strategies to manage performance of various products with an eye on improving loyalty and shifting share to United and Partner portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:- Monitor metrics including award redemption performance against plan, unit cost of redemption, interaction with other award redemption and revenue products, appeal to MP member segments and sub-segments, sensitivity to pricing and underlying drivers such as award availability
- Develop strategic action plans and optimize redemption economics to meet performance targets through pricing, marketing or other related actions
- Work with IT, Loyalty Operations and Product teams to improve or enhance redemption tools; and support enterprise projects that impact Air Redemption portfolio
- Work with Revenue Management to manage award/upgrade availability and optimize utilization
- Utilize modeling techniques and tools to determine data driven answers to core business problems for Air Redemption
NOTE: This position provides a hybrid work arrangement with the opportunity to work onsite 50 of the time at our Chicago office location and 50 remotely.

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):- Bachelors Degree in Economics, Engineering, Mathematics or related analytical field or equivalent experience
- Proficient with Python or R
- Minimum of 2+ years experience in an analyst role
- Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint and Access
- Ability to query (i.e. SQL) and work with large volumes of data and generate insights
- Demonstrated strategic and analytical capabilities and data driven decision making
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to work independently, be proactive and results oriented
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
What will help you propel from the pack (Preferred Qualifications):- Advanced degree or MBA
- Understanding of basic machine learning principles
- 2-3 years Revenue Management or experience in loyalty program management in travel or banking
- Product management expertise
- Analytical experience (e.g. forecasting and modeling)
- Ability to synthesize data and present key findings in a concise and impactful executive summary format
The base pay range for this role is $64,885.00 to $88,440.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
